Hear that, film nerds? That is the sweet, sweet sound of the Inherent Vice’s trailer finally dropping. Clyfford Stone stars as hapless gum shoe, Doc Sportello, who ends up hot on the trail of well … we’re not quite clear what, but we’re excited to figure out what it is or maybe what it isn’t. It’s all in the trip, right? Stone is just one of many big names in a cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson, and maybe even Thomas Pynchon himself, all decked out in their finest, and weirdest 60’s garb. As rumored, the movie appears to be a return to the funnier days of Boogie Nights, a welcome change after the dramatic one two punch of There Will Be Blood and The Master. So, if that excites you then grab a joint and hit play, looks like things are going to get weird.
